[ID:0118] com.hyperion.planning.olap.EssbaseException: Network Error [%s]: Cannot receive data data

Definition:

We faced issues in case Workforce deployment after initialization of the module. The application is a single currency classic planning application with a custom Currency dimension. The version is 11.1.2. We also have CAPEX module initialized for this application.

The following error was encountered at the time of creation/refresh of database which referenced to the Workforce database. (See the attachment)

Solution:

The issue was weird and so was the solution. We created “No Currency” member in the custom Currency dimension. The create/refresh was then successfully done without any errors. There are certain formulae in the Workforce Drivers that refer to a No Currency member. As in the initial deployment it failed to find this member in the outline it threw errors. I am not sure why this should happen especially in case of single currency application wherein in the out of box feature there should not be any reference to currency. However, by adding the above member, the deployment issue was resolved.
